We live in an imperfect world. We are imperfect people. Our immune systems are regularly bombarded with germs that cause sickness and disease. We don’t always take care of our bodies as we should. So what do you do when you get sick and can’t seem to receive healing?
First, don’t allow condemnation or feelings of failure to overtake you. There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:1)
The Bible says you have been set free from sin. Sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. (Romans 6:14) Do you always attain to that high mark? I don’t.
It’s the same way concerning our bodies. We can see the provision that God has made for our wholeness. We should strive to use our faith to attain it. But we may not always attain that high mark. There is no condemnation if we fall short. Neither does our lack of results tell us about the will of God concerning our healing. God’s will is always for our blessing and highest good.
Aim high! Make perfect wholeness your goal. And expect the Holy Spirit to help you correct wrong thinking and attitudes. Then persevere. If you won’t give up, God won’t either. He will keep working with you in order to perfect your faith.
Whatever you do, don’t use the excuse, “It must not be God’s will to heal me,” if you are not getting the results you want. Don’t lower the standard so it can line up with your experience! That will stop you from ever learning how to walk by faith. Instead, have bulldog determination that if God promised it in His word, it is for you today, and then expect Him to help you receive it.
We don’t like the tension that is created by the gap of what we see in God’s word and what we experience in our circumstances. But if you will not let that stop you and instead let it help you become more determined, you will discover how to access God’s healing power and apply it to your life. You have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise. (Hebrews 10:36)
When you receive the promise of physical healing, you will be glad that you didn’t give up!
Confession: I will persevere concerning learning to walk by faith and receiving healing. I will see God’s perfect will accomplished in my life.
Scriptures for meditation: Hebrews 12:1-3; Hebrews 10:35-38; Romans 8:1-2
