The healing anointing is one way God provides healing to His people. How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil, for God was with Him. (Acts 10:38)
Anointing speaks of the presence of God engulfing a person to such an extent that it overflows to others. Healing anointing would be God’s healing presence flowing from one person to another. Jesus had so much healing anointing on Him that it saturated His clothing, and people only had to touch the edge of His robe to receive enough power to be totally cured. Wherever He entered, into villages, cities, or the country, they laid the sick in the marketplaces, and begged Him that they might just touch the hem of His garment. And as many as touched Him were made well. (Mark 6:56)
Peter was so full of healing anointing that all he had to do was get close enough for his shadow to touch people and they were healed. They brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them. Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were ALL healed. (Acts 5:15-16) God loves to anoint His servants with healing power so people can be whole!
The healing anointing on Paul was so strong that people would take aprons and handkerchiefs from his body and give them to those who needed healing. The cloth would transmit the power of God to bring about supernatural cures. Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them. (Acts 19:11-12) Sickness, disease and evil spirits all are lumped together in this verse, because they are all from the same source and all of them are unable to stand in the presence of God’s anointing. Halleluia!
That same anointing is available today, because God never changes. He anoints people with healing power to do the same things as when Jesus walked the earth. When it is in operation, someone still has to use faith – either the person administering the healing or the person receiving it. The best scenario is if both people are in faith. Then there can be a mighty transfer of God’s power.
We see that God’s healing anointing is tangible, transmittable, and can be accessed by faith. It’s a beautiful way for God to use His power for our good as He destroys the works of the devil in our lives.
Confession: I will make myself available to God’s healing anointing, whether to receive it in my body or to transmit it to others in need.
