Faith fact number five: God wants you to be full of confidence.
Have you ever been wishy-washy? Indecisive? Wavering? You don’t get much accomplished; neither do you feel very good about yourself or your situation. God wants you to be confident! That is an outstanding characteristic of people in the Bible who accomplished something for God.
Abraham became so rock solid on God’s promises that he could not be moved off of them, no matter what happened. Paul said he was “always confident” because not even death frightened him. (2 Corinthians 5:6) Jesus exuded confidence, knowing that He was in the center of the Father’s will.
What does it take to develop confidence? Leaning on God in the hard times of life and watching Him come through. Stepping out on His word and seeing that it will hold you up. Not trusting any longer your own understanding or gifts or abilities. (Our confidence is NOT to be in our own flesh.) Being obedient to Him even when you don’t understand all of the “why’s.”
We can become confident, as Jesus was, that we are in the will of God and that God’s will is always good for us.
Confidence and boldness go together. (Philippians 1:14) God blesses boldness. If you see something in God’s word, be bold to act on it. The anointing to do the word will be stronger the bolder you get. The righteous are as bold as a lion. (Proverbs 28:1)
Confidence and faith go together. Now faith means we are confident of what we do not see …(Hebrews 11:1) We walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident … (2 Corinthians 5:7-8) If we only walk by sight, we will not be confident, because everything in this natural world seeks to undermine our confidence.
If you don’t feel bold or confident, fake it until you make it! That’s known as calling those things that do not exist as though they did. (Romans 4:17) Be confident that God wants you well. Be confident that God wants you blessed. Be confident that God wants to use you to help others. Be confident that you can do everything God calls you to do, not because you are something special but because He is!
Begin to talk confidently about who you are in Christ and what you can do in Him. God will back you up. It’s not arrogance, it’s becoming who God created you to be – a child of the living God, destined to change your world.
Confession: I am confident that God wants me well and blessed. I am righteous, so I am as bold as a lion.
